Jane reflects on Madiba
Updated | By Staff Writer

Today is a day we knew would come and with Tata's recent decline I thought I had prepared myself.
At 4am this morning I received an SMS from a friend to say Tata is gone.
I sobbed at the end of my bed as the night sky started to lighten and another day had begun, this time without our sacred Madiba.
I took the silent time while the family peacefully slept to scroll through images and footage of our lifetime hero and ambassador for love, peace, courage, compassion, forgiveness and bravery.
It's like being caught in an emotional whirlpool - one moment I am so alive and at peace that he has been released from pain and suffering and then in a heartbeat sobbing at the thought of never hearing his voice live again.
Go well Tata.
I’ll be searching for your kind-hearted face and twinkly eyes in the night stars every night.
Thank you.
Heart shine always.
