Idols the saga continues
Updated | By Msizi James

After ten season most of us had had enough of SA Idols and thought it was time for the curtains to close on the reality show. I really believed that it would follow in the footsteps of its American counterpart and say good bye. Not so lucky were we.
Let's backtrack quickly. By now you should know that I was a semifinalist on the show an I had the time of my life but it also gave me a good look in the behind the scenes of "reality" television. I must start by saying that the new judge Somizi has been the breath of fresh air the show needed. His sassy comments and REAL opinion have added a cool twist.
After watching the first few episodes i was so shocked that any of the contestants had made it to Suncity dreaming them the top 80 unsigned singers in South Africa. I felt a combination of offended and amusement. But I must say after watching this week’s Solo rounds I must take it all back... I was blown away. One of the front runners in my eyes is Siphesihle, who did an amazing cover of Zahara's Loliwe. I didn’t imagine that song could have been done better. I think all round the solo round was the best in Idols history. I'm crazy excited to see who makes it into the top 16 this week... May the odds be ever in your favor.
