Don't assume, dude!

Don't assume, dude!

The Breakfast Stack's Darren Maule has told East Coasters a little lie. Okay, maybe it's not so little. Natarah's hubby took calls from several people congratulating him on his impending fatherhood...

Darren Maule is a man who jumps to conclusions.

All the time.

Make no mistake, we're sure The Breakfast Stack jock meant well when he insinuated on-air last week that co-host Natarah Nadesan's experiencing symptoms associated with pregnancy.

Being a parent himself, he probably was over the moon.

Natarah had mentioned to Darren she hadn't been feeling too good.

She was tired and had been feeling a little nauseous. Two days later, the self-proclaimed doctor went on-air last week with his own diagnosis, telling listeners she's probably expecting!

The results? Well, let's just say Natarah's husband got more than a few calls congratulating him and enquiring whether they're going to have a boy or girl. He was gobsmacked! When he asked, "Who told you that?" They responded, "Darren told us this morning."

Natarah had to go on-air this morning to set the record straight. East Coasters, our Breakfast Stack news anchor is not pregnant, yet ;)

She did give Darren a piece of her mind on him making assumptions about her health - with the conversation flowing into some of the things men assume about women that drive us nuts!

So we put that question out there and the response we got from women was fantastic!

We've put some of your comments we got via Twitter and Facebook below.

@ronnel414 says, "Men assume when women are quiet, there is something wrong!"

Laura Van Der Westhuizen says, "Men always assume they work harder than women but at the end of the day a woman cannot sit down and relax. We have to still cook, clean up and do the ironing etc. Only after all that is done can we sit. Then hubby wonders why we 'are too tired' hurumph."

KellyanHayden Jennings says, "They feel as a mom and wife you aren't allowed to get sick. They say housework / cooking was only made for woman!!!!"

Di Kendall says, "They complain about how women drive, but they refuse point blank to ask for directions/help. Here's an example: a man in front of me at the shopping centre exit boom, his card does not work so he proceeds to have an argument with the machine and forces the ticket in again and again instead of pressing the HELP button. In the mean time the queue has grown a mile long."

Janine Reddy says, "Well the most irritating thing would be when men choose to watch sport than do shopping or let us watch soapies!!!"

Prea Govender says, "When men get annoyed at women drivers. So what if we're more cautious and don't drive like we're late constantly." Marlize Greyvenstein adds she hates it when men just assume that women cannot drive!

Charleen Nieuwenhuizen says, "When they say women were never made to be understood."

Bilkish Nakhuda says, "When a woman gets a cold, she ignores it and continues on with her everyday business. A man on the other hand who gets the same cold may as well be suffering from a life threatening illness."

Hope Tariro Zhou-Moyo says, "If you are nice to a male colleague he thinks..."oh she wants me..."

Mishal Naicker says, "Men complain when a lady takes too long to get dressed, then complain, "you've let yourself go" if you spend less time on your appearance." Janine Reddy's added, "It is most annoying when they assume that we're dressing up to attract other guys, then they insist we go and change into some other granny looking outfit just cos they are feeling insecure!"

Kerry-lee Francis says she cannot stand it when men say women don't work as hard as them. She says, "I run a business, in a man's industry and I not only have to put up with men not wanting to take instructions from me, but all that bull that goes along with it."

Faaiza Rahman says it's annoying when men assume that women know nothing about technology.

Nicole Wilson sent us this cartoon that pretty much sums it all up!
