Darren & Sam, the new Milli Vanilli!

Darren & Sam, the new Milli Vanilli!

It's no secret that The Breakfast Stack's Darren Maule and Samson Oduntan are 100% tone-deaf. What you don't know is that even though they themselves are aware of this uncomplimentary fact, they tend to ignore it completely, subjecting all those around them to their ear-piercing madness.

Remember Milli Vanilli, the pop duo that rose to fame in the 80s with hits like Girl You Know It's True and Blame It On The Rain?  The men became a laughing stock in 1990, when it came to light that they'd been lip-syncing to prerecorded music. The reason why these guys are top of mind today is because of The Breakfast Stack's Darren Maule and Samson Oduntan.

It's no secret that Darren and Samson are 100% tone-deaf.  If you tuned into the show this morning (12 April 2013) you would have heard us serenading Olympic star and Durbanite, Chad Le Clos with the Happy Birthday song. You would have also heard Darren change key effortlessly, halfway through the song, while the rest of us kept singing in the lower range.

Now, you need to know that Darren and Samson are aware they have no singing skills. However, despite this fact, they continue to subject everyone to their ear-piercing madness.

I snuck my camera into the show this morning, to capture their off-pitch vocals. These wooden mic contenders love singing their hearts out when the mics are off. Here's the clip, for your listening, er, displeasure.
