Darnell Secondary School is holding a fundraising dinner dance this Friday.
The school is desperate to make a success out if it but doesn't have everything it needs for the night.
Have a look at the letter that a teacher at the school sent The Big Favour:
"I am an educator at Darnall Secondary School in Northern KZN. My school is in the heart of Darnall and has a school population of approximately 650 learners from Darnall and surrounding areas.
"Our school fees of R400 per year has not changed in the past four years with the majority of the learners being unable to meet these payments. They come from impoverished backgrounds with many of them coming to school without breakfast and neither do they carry lunch. Our school is sorely lacking in funds. We have, therefore embarked on a fundraising drive to help ease the financial burdens of the school.
"One of our events is a Dinner and Dance to be held on 06/09/2013. We have secured sponsorships for the printing of 300 tickets and for the payment of the hall.We now require sponsorships for the catering of the event. We thus beg of the BIG FAVOUR TEAM to assist us in our endeavours to secure a catering sponsorship for 300 people. The entry fee to the event is only R40 so we are therefore looking at the simplest of menus.
"The money raised will go towards upgrading our classrooms, fitting doors and windows to the classrooms and upgrading toilet facilities."
