Bullying in schools widespread
Updated | By Staff Writer

After a recent incident of bullying in a Chatsworth school in which two pupils assaulted one another, the issue of bullying has come to the fore.
But it's not just physical bullying that is traumatic. Verbal bullying can be equally dangerous, with many kids ending up in therapy.
Terrence Pillay investigated two horrific cases from private schools in Durban and uncovered a widespread problem in schools around the province.
Take a listen to what one KZN parent had to say about the effect that bullying has had on her child.
Another parent spoke to Terence about the verbal bullying that her child suffered – which ended in physical assault at a school.
Terence also spoke to clinical psychologist Francois de Marigny about the issue.
De Marigny currently treats a number of adults who were bullied as kids. The effects of bullying are long-lasting.
