Bring back our Generations!

Zaba's got some Generations advice for the show's executive producer.

Do you remember last August when South African TV went haywire?

That was when 16 Generations actors went on strike and subsequently got axed by Generations executive producer, Mfundi Vundla.

Then came December 1 last year, when the first episode of Generations: The Legacy aired. It was met with a lot of negativity and now, almost two months into the new show, there is a whole lot more drama.

Rumour has it that the lawyers of the "Generations 16" are going to the South Gauteng High Court today to stop the SABC from airing any further episodes of Generations.

Their lawyer, Buleleani Mzamo, told the City Press newspaper that the SABC had not fulfilled a contract it signed after the actors were fired that stated that the SABC would pay the fees the actors had been demanding - and was willing to reinstate them.

The "Generations 16" had said last Friday's episode of Generations: The Legacy is the last they would allow. (ROTFLMAO) But last night at 8pm on SABC 1 we all still sat down to watch the show. (Well of course; it's not like they were going to go steal the tapes!?)

Mvundla seems completely unphased by all of this and said ''I am aware of the planned legal action, but the show will go on because we have a contract with the SABC, not the actors."

This poor soapie can't seem to catch a break. The audience hasn't received the new Generations too well and a lot of people are not impressed with the weak storyline and lack of talented actors. So Mr Mvundla, seeing as your old actors are fighting to get your new Generations off air and your audience isn't enjoying the new Generations and would rather have the old Generations back, how about you find middle ground that will make you and your old actors happy, and mend your relationship with them and at the same time #bringbackourGenerations?
