Natarah and Samson made the most of the Discovery East Coast Radio Big Walk.

Getting up before sunrise, they made their way to Durban's Moses Mabhida Stadium at 04h45 on Sunday, 26 May 2013, ahead of one of the most anticipated events on the East Coast.

They both manned Zone 1, a refreshment and entertainment station a kilometre away from the start of the walk. Natarah had more on her plate. She'd signed up to work and registered for the 5km leg of the walk.

So basically, she worked and walked on the day and what a day it was! The Breakfast Stack co-hosts danced and cheered on all walkers who made their way past the first checkpoint.

The atmosphere was vibrant. Energy levels were high and everyone was in a good mood sporting very colourful wigs, backpacks and even socks. Natarah spotted a few people wearing bright green neon socks. Pink was also a popular colour among women wearing brightly coloured tops, feather boas and angel wings.

Cirque du Soleil had nothing on the more dramatic costumes. One woman opted for a Hawaiian themed look wearing a hula skirt and a crown of flowers on her head. It was refreshing to see people of all ages embracing the event. Some parents pushed their diaper-wearing cutie pies along the route, in strollers.

Everyone was game for fun. Sam and Natarah got thousands of walkers to do the Mexican wave. Have you ever seen a mobile Mexican wave? As they floated by Zone 1, many greeted the pair with the Queen's wave. Yes, Nats and Sam did feel like royalty for a while.

Have a look at Sam and Natarah's collection of photos from the Discovery East Coast Radio Big Walk. It's definitely a day to remember and cherish.
