The Big Favour keeps Nicole moving
Updated | By Rory Petzer
Single dad of two daughters, Jay Padayachee wrote to The Big Favour asking for Nicole's deterorating wheelchair to be repaired.
Jay says the wheelchair is no longer safe to use as it often moves backwards or forwards without any warning.
Also, the wheels are extremely old and worn out, needing urgent replacement.
Nicole has very little muscle in her body, so these sudden, unexpected movements of her wheelchair throw her little body around quite dangerously.
In December, Nicole had major spinal surgery, during which titanium rods and screws were inserted into her bending spine, but she still suffers excruciating pain as a result of the surgery.
"All we need is for someone to repair the wheelchair, so I can have some peace of mind," says Jay.
Jay says, he also struggles getting the 64kg wheelchair into and out of the car every time they need to go anywhere.
Well, thanks to two very generous sponsors, namely Naz and Mehmood from Naz Financial Services and Dynamic Maintenance, and Sandy from CE Mobility, at least two of Jay and Nicole's problems are now a thing of the past.
Naz Financial Services have sponsored special ramps to assist in getting the wheelchair into Jay's car while, wait for it...CE Mobility has sponsored a brand new, custom fitted electric wheelchair.
