Be careful when you exclaim: "Another RoboCop? Cool!" The original was released almost 30 years ago so if you are going to to jump up and down and clap your hands; be careful because you might be in danger of ageing yourself. 

 

This on again off again production is now scheduled for release early next year.Jose Padilha is the eventual director of this movie that very nearly wasn't. 

 

First, my favourite modern director Darren Aronofsky was booked to bring Alex Murphy back to the big screen, but it wasn't to be.

 

Can you even begin to imagine what the director of Requim for a Dream and The Wrestler would have done with Robocop.That was not to be but at least the movie is made.

 

It is a re-boot ... yes, another one, but thanks to modern CGI robocop looks like the cyborg he was intended to be and not the half-face-exposed-stormtrooper he was back in 1987.

So its the fourth movie instalment but a redo of the origin story which Christopher Nolan single handedly made avant garde with his Batman Dark Knight reboot.

 

Add to that this monstously talented cast and we are in for a treat of note! The only question this time February 2014 is: What will do better at the box office - Robocop or the next Fast and Furious?
