Although the team thinks pick-up lines are totally overrated and entirely unnecessary, yet, for some reason, people like Darren Maule still love to collect and sometimes even try them out on others.
The only purpose of a pick-up line should be to initiate a conversation with someone else, and there are thousands of other much more effective ways to do that.
Anyone (like Darren) who tells you that pick-up lines are an essential part of meeting people clearly don't understand the art of the pick-up.
