Durban faith healer Bishop HQ Nala could be arrested over his claim that he can cure HIV and Aids through his “Holy” faith water.

This was revealed by KwaZulu-Natal Health MEC Dr Sibongiseni Dhlomo.

He’s been speaking on Jane Linley-Thomas’ The Work Zone Part 2 show on East Coast Radio earlier today.

Bishop Nala of the Rebirth Family Centre, who was a guest on the show yesterday, claimed that he is able to change a positive HIV test result to a negative result and that God is using him to cure Aids.

He told Jane that his “Gospel of Plenty” can deliver you from all sin, poverty and sickness including HIV and Aids through the use of prayer and his Holy Water.

The water is packaged in plastic water bottles branded with his logo and image.

It is sold at his church in Umbilo for R15 for a small bottle and R30 for the big one.

Nala said he has long list of people that he has helped who have now been cured of Aids through prayer and the use of his Holy Water.

Some have even stopped taking their antiretroviral (ARV) treatment because they say that they have been “cured” of Aids.

The man stated that it is “wrong and careless” of the Department of Health to say that Aids can’t be cured, because he has proved that any ailment can be cured through faith and the power of prayer.

Dr Dhlomo has responded by saying that Nala is out of order.

He called the bishop a liar who is deliberately misleading people.

“That’s a very irresponsible statement to make. We are warning our people to continue with their ARVs and stop listening to irresponsible and irrational statements by this person. Continue taking your treatment and you be in control of the HIV in your body.”

Dhlomo continued:”This man must stop whatever he's doing. In fact if he continues one more day, we’ll have to report him to the police for arrest.

He added that he will report the matter to national Health Minister Dr Aaron Motsoaledi to help determine the appropriate course of action.

“The people of KwaZulu-Natal need protection from Nala and other scammers like him. We would not want our people to be misled by this man. I am very upset by this. There’s no way we can call upon our people to substitute ARVs with faith and faith alone. It’s not going to help us. We’ve proved that it doesn’t work,” Dhlomo said.

The MEC maintains that there is still no functional cure for HIV or Aids. He challenged Nala to provide him with scientific evidence to back up his claims.
