Adoptees for this week

Please adopt, don't shop!

There are way too many animals sitting in various shelters across Kwazulu Natal, just waiting to find a new home and someone to love them forever.

The reason for them not having a home is because they've been rescued, surrendered, abandoned, or even worse, abused.

Far too many people believe that a dog from a  shelter is almost second grade, and that is absolutely not true! They are just as sweet and loving as a dog from a breeder or a shop. I'd even go so far as to say that they are even MORE loving and loyal simply because they've been given a second chance.

Remember that there will be an adoption fee that varies from shelter to shelter, and there will also be a compulsary home check.

1. Huckeberry & Finn - Project Dog

These 2 gorgeous boys are Huckleberry and Finn. They are 4 months old and were unwanted by their previous owner. They have another 2 sisters also looking for a home. They are a cross with a bit of shepherd in them and will grow into a big size dog.

Call Quicha on 0832727201 if you'd like to adopt one of these little guys or find out more.

2. Rex - 4 Paws & A Tale Rescue

A 7/8 year old German Shepherd boy looking for love. He is not doing great in kennels, and need a loving family, as he adores humans! He loves attention...Giving and receiving it! He has been neutered, and would make a great and loving companion!

Strict home checks and post adoption follow ups apply as well as a R300 donation to cover de worming and vaccinations.

He is available for adoption in the Durban and surrounding areas and South coast down to Margate

Please contact Nicky on 084 626 5508 for more info

3. Bruno - Phoenix Animal Care & Centre

He was left behind when his owners moved out of their home and simply left him behind like trash.

Now he is safe but stuck in our kennels and we need to find him a loving home that he deserves.
If you would be interested in offering this boy a home.

4. Milo - a special needs little girl!

About a month ago Tyler picked up a beautiful female x-breed dog. She had been hit by a car a few days before and broken her pelvis with injury to her leg. When Tyler picked her up she was limping and could not use her leg at all but despite that and her being a little under- nourished she was as happy as Larry and strong. She took her through to the Ashburne Vet in Glenashley where they assisted  amazingly with accommodation, food, vaccinations etc. The list goes on! Anyway with the help of  PACT and a load of kind hearts we managed to raise the required amount for x-rays and surgery.

There was a lot of debate on what would be best for her. The final decision was to amputate her leg and see what they could do to fix her pelvis. After 3 hours under anesthetic and a complex operation they were done. Apparently that night she was already walking on her three legs like a champion.

Her stitches are now out and she is healing wonderfully. She is currently living with me while I do a few exercises with her to improve her balance. I will be looking for a home for her soon though as I cannot keep her.

Please email Tyler on [email protected] if you can offer this brave dog a loving home.
