A night in the Sugar Club

I was lucky enough to be invited to the Sugar Room at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Umhlanga on Tuesday night to try out their brand new Summer menu.

Now straight up I have to tell you, I don't do fancy dinners. Not because I don't like them, but because I can't seem to go one outing without dropping the contents of the main course down my shirt.

Anyway I figured I might as well make the most of an incredible offer and headed to the Sugar Club after work. I was lucky enough to have a beautiful girl with me, who would act like a beacon of hope for my supper as I strived to not let my meal go surfing down the front of my chest.

I have to say, when i got there I felt like I was that guy from the Titanic ( Jack I think) who gets to spend some time in the luxurious world, despite being from a lower section of the ship. Not to say that the  Sugar Club is like that - on the contrary - the price of a meal there is as reasonable as it gets, the service is amazing and everyone has a smile and a helping hand to lend.

In my case that helping hand came around a few times!

Aside from the incredible decor, what blew my mind was the layout of the meals. Think art. Then think vegetables. Then think meat. Then think work of art. Now repeat. For every meal!

I really enjoyed feeling like I was king of the world. Yeah I used that reference. In fact I went outside to the patio where I stood against the railing and... enjoyed the view. I bet you thought I lent over and shouted "I'm the king of the worrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrld," didn't you?  That's just ridiculous....

Ok maybe I was tempted to but security gave me that all knowing look so I opted to just stand there and whisper it in a weird creepy voice, which makes no sense...

If you want a night of luxury, fun, ( they have an awesome live piano guy who really knows his stuff) - then head on down to the Sugar Club!
