65-year-old grandmother has quadruplets
Updated | By tanstan fourie
Annegret Raunigk, who already had 13 other children and seven grandchildren, gave birth to three boys and one girl in a Berlin hospital after undergoing an artificial insemination procedure.
The babies were born premature at 26 weeks but have “good chances of surviving”, although they are “not completely developed, so eventual complications can’t be ruled out”, according to reports.
The new arrivals make Ms Raunigk the world’s oldest mother of quadruplets.
Her oldest daughter is 44 and her youngest before the quadruplets is nine.
Meet Annegret Raunigk.
