10 things to look forward to when turning a year older

Yesterday, life seemed to offer a number of possibilities: your potential knew no bounds and the party was never-ending.

Now, I'm not so sure. 

Barriers have suddenly started appearing where previously there were none.

That, my friend, is when you know you are approaching middle age!

Here are a couple of exciting things to look forward to when turning a year older: 

1.    More friends are getting divorced than married.

2.    Most names in your little black book start with Doctor.

3.    Random kids call you Uncle (Oom)

4.    Your favourite movies are on TCM.

5.    You switch off the lights to save energy.

6.    You can date someone half your age and it isn’t illegal.

7.    Friends phone you after 20h00 and ask; “Did I wake you?”

8.    You use 20h00 instead of 8 O’Clock.

9.    When you have a party and the neighbours don't even notice.

10.   When your foot taps to elevator music.
