Zululand fishing classic next month
Updated | By Staff Writer
The deep sea fishing competition will take place on the weekend of 25 and 26 April.
The heaviest couta this year will earn the angler involved a first prize of R30 000.
I will be fishing in the competition and reporting from Mtunzini.
My last two fishing competitions both ended in blanks for me.
I did come close to landing a tuna at Quattro King of the Sea in May last year, but managed no better than a sarda sarda and a few small shad during the Durban Ski Boat Club Jetski Bonanza later in 2014.
I seem to reserve my best fishing for outside of competitions and some have already attached the choker tag to me.
I hope to prove them wrong off Mtunzini next month.
(The couta in this photo was caught during the 2014 Imperial Nissan Zululand Couta Classic)
Our main photo is of the fish that won first prize last year.
It weighed in at 29.6kg.
