Williams again for Robson

Venus Williams lost her first round outing at the Rome Masters on Monday.

Laura Robson beat Williams 6-3 6-2.

Robson will play Serena Williams in the second round.

Others to win in the first round yesterday were Sam Stosur, Jelena Jankovic, Kei Nishikori and Grigor Dimitrov.

Maria Sharapova, who is currently dating Dimitrov, will play Garbine Muguruza in the Rome Masters second round.

Roger Federer will meet Potito Starace in his second round match, while Rafael Nadal will be up against another Italian in Fabio Fognini.

Novak Djokovic has a date with Albert Montanes.

Kevin Anderson will face Marin Cilic in his second round match at the Rome Masters.

Anderson hammered Jurgen Melzer 6-1 6-2 in first round action yesterday.

Cilic, the 11th seed, was a 6-4 6-2 winner over Andrey Golubev.
