VIDEO: Trophy fish from a canoe
Updated | By Staff Writer
Captain Blair Wiggins turns back the clock as he visits his old stomping ground.
Wiggins ends up beating a drum in the Florida shallows.
The world record black drum caught on rod and reel weighed 51 kilograms.
This one is not as big, but still represents an awesome catch on what looks like pretty light tackle.
Black drum tend to feed on oysters and shellfish.
These fish are abundant in both Florida and Texas in the USA.
They are also found in the Caribbean and in Argentina.
Large black drum can be difficult to clean, due to their large scales.
These fish remind me of the musselcracker we catch here in South Africa.
