*Video* Tour de France crashes

Professional cycling can be a dangerous sport and produces its fair share of bumps and bruises.

Fractured collarbones are perhaps the most common injuries, while tar and gravel tend to produce trophy roasties.

Cycling is very much in the spotlight this month with the Tour de France currently underway.

Daryl Impey was fourth overall after the second stage of the Tour yesterday.

Impey is the only South African in the 2013 field.

Let us hope he manages to avoid the type of spills showcased in our footage below.
