VIDEO: Shark fishing in close
Updated | By Staff Writer

These predators are known for not requiring deep water to hunt effectively.
You may recall the shark attack on an angler in Durban harbour back in 2002.
He was fishing in shallow water in front of the Royal Natal Yacht Club.
The attack happened at night and the angler did not see the shark before it hit.
Our footage below shows fishermen who did see the shark before it struck.
They were fishing from the safety of a boat and with the sun on their backs.
The shark in the footage above is indeed a spinner shark.
They can reach up to 3 metres in length.
Spinner sharks have attacked humans, but none of these attacks have been fatal.
These sharks are valued for their meat and are caught by humans for food.
They are also known as acrobatic fighters when hooked.
