VIDEO: Pier fishing for snook
You will most likely know about the 9kg Natal snoek I caught off a jetski recently.
I caught the snoek on a spoon just behind the backline off Umhlanga.
Today we focus on snook - a very different species to the Natal snoek I caught.
These snook are not found in KwaZulu-Natal waters.
Our footage of this snook fishing was shot on a pier in Florida in the USA.
These snook remind me just a bit of the bass we catch here in KZN. Both species have rather large mouths.
I have also seen these snook caught in estuaries on both live and artificial baits.
The Racetech Yamaha Jetski Fishing Classic took place in Mozambique over the past weekend and I hope to have photos for you soon.
It is the biggest jetski fishing competition in the world with 140 anglers in the 2016 field.
