I have watched many boxers over the past three decades or so and today find myself thinking about who should get the cleanest puncher award.

I have watched many boxers over the past three decades or so and today find myself thinking about who should get the cleanest puncher award.

Mike Tyson obviously threw a heavy blow, while Thomas Hearns was explosive at his best.

Sugar Ray Leonard was crisp and his silky skills sometimes drew attention from the fact that he could punch.

Marvin Hagler and John Mugabi are others with significant power. They unleashed it on each other in a brutal battle won by Hagler back in 1986.

Also on my list of contenders are the likes of Gerald McClellan, George Foreman, Alexis Arguello and Felix Trinidad.

I cannot comment on great fighters I failed to see enough of. Here I must make mention of Joe Louis, Sugar Ray Robinson, Jack Dempsey and Archie Moore. They are all rated highly for their punching power.

However, let me stick with boxers I feel more comfortable rating. It is a tough call to make, but Julian Jackson gets my vote as KO king.

Jackson ended 49 of his 55 professional wins inside the distance and stopped quality opponents like Terry Norris and Herol Graham in spectacular fashion.

Here are some of his finest moments.
