VIDEO: Monster alligator gar fishing

The alligator gar must be one of the weirdest fish I have ever seen.

These freshwater giants can grow up to 3-metres in length.

The largest I know of weighed 166-kilograms.

Alligator gar are found throughout the southeastern United States and also in Mexico.

Some of these fish have also been spotted in Indonesia and Malaysia. Their eggs are poisonous.

Our footage shows an angler battling a whopper. I sure hope he managed to remove the hook...
