VIDEO: King mackerel from a kayak
Updated | By Staff Writer
These fierce predators are most commonly caught off ski-boats and kayaks.
I also remember tales of couta being landed on live bait off south pier in Durban.
Couta have sharp teeth and anglers tend to use a steel trace when targeting this species.
King mackerel can reach over 40kgs in weight and are found in subtropical waters around the globe.
Pregnant women are generally advised to avoid eating this fish due to mercury concerns.
The footage below was shot off Florida in the USA.
