VIDEO: Fishing for permit by fly

Today we see Captain Wiggins breaking out his fly tackle in pursuit of permit.

These fish remind me very much of the pompano we catch here in KwaZulu-Natal.

Permit and pompano look pretty similar to me, but I have been told that permit can grow bigger than the biggest pompano we find in KZN waters.

I know that Durban piers have been fishing well for pompano lately and that sealice are again the bait of choice.

However, let us now focus on the USA and Captain Wiggins in his hunt for permit on a fly.

I believe permit can weigh up to 36kg.
