VIDEO: Dizzy dorado fishing action

These fish frequent KZN waters in the summer months.

Dorado are colourful acrobats and one of them settled the Breakfast v Drive Fishing Challenge last December.

I ended up eating that dorado and greatly enjoyed the meal.

Dorado are often caught around the container vessels anchored off Umhlanga.

These ships cast shadows in the water and these dark spots can be very useful to a dorado looking to ambush prey.

The Drive team hooked two dorado during the win over Breakfast and both took live maasbanker trawled behind our boat.

The biggest dorado, which managed to throw our hook, took the bait right next to a container vessel.

There should soon be plenty of these awesome fish off our central coast.

For now we stop in Mexico for some awesome dorado footage.

Durban Ski Boat Club will be hosting a big jetski fishing competition on 22 and 23 November 2014.

I suspect dorado will be landed over that weekend...
