VIDEO: City demolish, Chelsea and Spurs win
City hammered Sheffield Wednesday 7-0 at the Etihad Stadium.
Edin Dzeko and Frank Lampard got braces, Lampard has now scored three goals at the home of City in two games since making his move from Chelsea.
The Blues grabbed a 2-1 win over Bolton Wanderers at Stamford Bridge, Brazilian Oscar wrapped up the victory after debutant Zouma grabbed the opener.
Tottenham also had a successful opening round, Spurs defeated Nottingham Forest 3-1 at White hart Lane.
Soldado, Kane and Mason were on target after trailing 1-0 to Forest.
