VIDEO: Blackfin tuna on a fly
Fishermen here in KZN are very familiar with the yellowfin tuna.
Anglers in the Western Cape also hook bluefin tuna from time to time.
However, the blackfin tuna is a stranger to our waters.
These fish are caught in the western Atlantic.
They are found off the coast of the USA and live as far south as Brazil.
Blackfin tuna are much smaller than bluefins and yellowfins.
Blackfin tuna reach a maximum weight of around 21kg.
The footage below was shot off the coast of Florida in the USA.
