Giant Trevally are known as both powerful and dirty fighters.
GT are famous for cutting lines on reefs and rocks.
I remember losing some big ones out on the Bluff at spots like Cave Rock and the Brighton Beach tidal pool.
We used to hit and hold and hope for the best...
The anglers below used their boat to move the fight away from a dangerous reef.
Our very own Wes Cruickshanks was reefed by what he thinks was a huge GT in Mozambique recently.
He was on a kayak and in no position to dictate terms.
