I also fished at this competition last year and came within a whisker of landing a yellowfin tuna off Shelly Beach.

I have since drawn blanks at both the Durban Ski Boat Club Jetski Bonanza and the Imperial Nissan Zululand Couta Classic.

I did manage some fish for the pot off Zululand, but failed to see any couta action during the event last month.

I also caught some nice bait during the jetski competition off Durban.

However, I am yet to score any competition points and hope to break my duck at Quattro on the 23rd and 24th of this month.

Last year we headed south from Pumula to Protea Banks off Shelly Beach and I am wondering if my skipper will opt for a similar approach this year.

I am also wondering if Andre Joubert will be entering Quattro this year.

The Springbok rugby legend ended second at the Imperial Nissan Zululand Couta Classic last month and earlier this month landed a monster 35kg couta on a social fishing trip off Zinkwazi.

Let me in the interim share something concrete with you.
