VIDEO: Awesome addictive fishing
Captain Blair Wiggins joins a friend on a hunt for permit - a fish that reminds me a lot of the pompano we catch here in KZN.
Permit are found in the western Atlantic Ocean from Massachusetts to Brazil.
Permit, like our pompano, tend to be caught in fairly shallow water and like to feed on shrimp and other crustaceans.
Permit can weigh up to 36kg and reach over a metre in length.
Our pompano are believed to reach a maximum weight of around 23kg.
I have seen pompano caught on sea lice in both Durban and St Lucia.
But let us focus on the permit for now and enjoy the footage below.
