They are seven points clear of nearest rivals the Warriors.

The Dolphins drilled the Lions by 118 runs last night.

Vaughn van Jaarsveld top scored for the Dolphins with 108 in Potchefstroom.

He has amassed 417 runs at an average of 52 in the Momentum One Day Cup this season.

Dolphins skipper, Khaya Zondo, believes Van Jaarsveld is a class player who is batting with passion this season.

"Just from looking at him and knowing him for a while, it looks like he has a hunger to succeed. He has this passion to perform and do really well for the team. He is also technically sound and we have almost just given him licence to play however he wants to play and however he feels he can be successful. I think he has found that formula to be consistent as well," said Zondo.

Imran Tahir claimed three wickets in the win over the Lions last night. Zondo feels that Tahir is a player of the highest pedigree when comes to the one-day format.

"He is one of the best bowlers in the world. His length and the fact that he has so much in armoury, makes him a lot tougher to read and a lot tougher to hit. He just has so many strings to his bow," Zondo added.

Robbie Frylinck has impressed with both bat and ball for the Dolphins this season. Frylinck is currently the leading wicket-taker in the Momentum One Day Cup this season. Zondo feels Frylinck is in a good space right now.

"I think since his return to the team, Robbie has undergone a big mindset shift. He understands what it is he needs to do for the team and for him to be part of the team," Zondo said.

The Dolphins will play again on Sunday. That is when they will host the Titans in Durban. Zondo believes the Titans will prove tough challengers.

"The Titans are a good team. I don't think they have any weak links in their side. We just have to make sure that we bring our A-game. If anything, it has nothing to do with how strong they are. We have to make sure that we execute everything we planned. Then things should go in our favour," Zondo concluded.
