Amazulu Operations Manager, Peter O'Connor, has confirmed that the club has parted ways with veteran defender Mbulelo OJ Mabizela.

The former Tottenham Hotspur player joined Usuthu on loan from Mpumlalanga Black Aces last season.

O'Connor said today that with the club's budget significantly cut after they were relegated from the PSL last season, they were forced to make serious changes ahead of the upcoming term in the National First Division.

"To be perfectly honest with where we are with the financial situation we can't afford a player of Mabizela's stature. He has done a great job for us, but that is the reality. We have to part ways with him," O'Connor said.

O'Connor says the club is busy putting together their squad for the new season, but face the reality of letting go some of their experienced players.

"The likes of Marc van Heerden has indicated that if he gets an opportunity to move on then he will. We will entertain offers," he added.

Amazulu have also terminated the services of their Head Scout, Joel Faya.
