Twitter decides Mayweather bout
Floyd Mayweather has finally confirmed his next opponent. He will meet Marcos Maidana in a welterweight unification bout on 3 May 2014.
Mayweather is the WBC champion, while Maidana holds the WBA welterweight title.
Mayweather has won all 45 of his professional fights.
Maidana, who is from Argentina, has won 35 of his 38 bouts as a professional.
Maidana has ended 31 of his victories inside the distance.
Mayweather had earlier asked his Twitter followers to choose between Maidana and Amir Khan as his next opponent.
Mayweather says a clear majority of his followers voted for a fight with Maidana.
