Stumpies biting at Kosi Bay

Kosi Bay has seen lots of small edible fish being landed recently. This is typical for this time of year with stumpnose, wave garrick and bonefish coming out at this northern KZN spot.

This sure is a good scenario for light tackle fishing.

St Lucia and Cape Vidal are still producing the odd stumpnose and lantern fish, but they do not seem to be feeding quickly and patience is required in order to catch them. Evening sessions have seen some eeltail barbel - especially on low tides in the dark. For more info visit kingfisher.co.za

The Durban Undersea Club is having an interesting Aquarist & Environmental evening on Tuesday - 25 June at 6pm.

Justin Hart from uShaka's Oceanographic Research Institute will be doing a presentation about coral romance - which is about how coral reefs reproduce. Former South African rower, Hayley Arthur, who will join seven other Rhodes University graduates to row across the Atlantic Ocean in December 2013, will also be telling us about her exciting expedition. This event is open to the public - don’t miss out.

We have clear skies forecast for Durban with a high of 21 degrees Celsius and light WSW winds blowing on Monday. There is still a lot of swell around so big wave surfers will be scouting for surf up and down the coast this morning. Bathers are reminded to pay attention to their local lifeguards.
