Sportswave Diary - Chapter One

Sportswave Diary - Chapter One

A relatively early morning for me getting to work at 06h30. A chat to Sky Tshabalala and then a quick search for the Neymar goal scored at the Olympic Games last night.

The fastest goal in Olympic Games history as the Brazil striker pounced on a defensive blunder in an eventual 6-0 demolition of Honduras.

Not great news for Africa with Nigeria losing 2-0 to Germany in the other semi-final.

I have gotten into the nasty habit of having too much coffee.

This did not change today with three cups down the hatch by 8am - I know!

I had four stories up on the Sportswave page by 9am, including a KZN south coast shore fishing update.

It seems Nyoni Rocks has been fishing well for shad.

I seem to recall a shark attack at that spot several years ago.

I have an exciting afternoon ahead with Chad le Clos due to arrive back in Durban at 14h45.

I wonder if he will be happy with his two silver medals?

I am also looking forward to the Test cricket starting in Durban tomorrow.

Dane Piedt reckons variation will be important for him in the opening Test against the Black Caps.

I am wondering if there will be added bounce for the spinner at Sahara Stadium Kingsmead?

Cell C Sharks and Manchester United are also on the menu tomorrow.

Sharks will face Boland Kavaliers at 3pm and United have an English Premiership date with Southampton later on Friday.

I am going to have just one more cup of coffee and after that only water and green tea - I promise!
