Spar Women's Race - Road Closures

Durban will host the Spar Women's Race this Sunday and certain roads in the city will be affected.

From 02h00 in the morning on Sunday organisers will start closing off the Snell Parade/Blue Lagoon area.

Intersection of Snell Parade/Athlone Drive, intersection of Stiebel Place/Lagoon Drive/Blue Lagoon Tunnel, intersection of Snell Parade/Battery Beach and the intersection of Stiebel Place/Athlone Drive (East & West) will be affected.

So too will the intersection of Masabalala Yengwa (south bound) from Argyle Road to KE Masinga, intersection of Somtseu Road/Masabalala Yengwa Avenue and the intersection of access roads around Sahara Stadium.
 
From 03h00 organisers will start closing off parts of MY Avenue and areas around the stadium for the start build-up.

Affected areas are the intersection of Battery Beach/Suncoast Main Entrance traffic circle (heading north), intersection of Battery Beach/MY Avenue and the intersection of Isaiah Ntshangase/MY Avenue (south bound).
 
From 04h00 organisers will do the final road closures in order to start setting up refreshment stations etc.

Intersection of MY (north bound lane) closure from KE Masinga to Argyle (one lane of traffic to remain open for access to the station and to Argyle Road) and intersection of Argyle Road on-ramp to MY Avenue (north bound) and all other roads affected by the race route.

PLEASE NOTE:

All main roads to re-open by 11am.

Road access to the Sahara Stadium to remain closed until 12pm.
