The Cell C Sharks will play in commemorative jerseys against Western Province to celebrate their 125 year anniversary.
The Sharks host the Cape outfit in what is a big clash for both sides. Western Province sit third on the Absa Currie Cup log, just two points ahead of the Sharks.
While a win will see the Durban outfit leapfrog the Cape Town side, there is more at stake.
The Kwa-Zulu Natal Rugby Union is celebrating its 125 year anniversary. To mark the occasion, the Sharks will play in a special commemorative jersey.
Considering the magnitude of today's match, coach Gary Gold said his side would look to honour the legacy of the greats who have donned the Black and White colours of the Sharks.
"When you see the likes of Gary Teichmann, Dick Muir, Henry Honnibal, James Small, Wahl Bartmann - those guys who can be very proud to say that they left a massive legacy here," Gold said.
"The 125th year, to celebrate it with them in the most the successful decade of Sharks rugby, is a huge privilege. It pulls on our heart-strings because its important for us to honour them in the best way we can and that is to live up to their legacy."
"We can do that by playing well, playing at huge intensity and making them proud," the coach said.
The Sharks face Western Province at Growthpoint Kings Park - kickoff is at 17h05.
