Shad biting early at St Lucia
Updated | By Andre Bloem

Reports suggest fishing has been pretty decent on the KZN north coast lately.
The Kingfisher says that Kosi Bay anglers have been catching kingfish, bonefish and honeycomb rays.
St Lucia has seen lots of action for the early risers with some nice size shad being landed.
The Tugela area has had some dirty water and this produced only a handful of non-edibles like skates and sand sharks.
A quick note for all underwater photographers and scuba divers: The committee of the DUC Shootout has decided to extend the deadline for entries for this year’s competition. It will now officially close on the 29 April 2013. So there is still plenty of time to take the winning image and submit it.
We are in for chilly and wet weather in Durban today with temperatures ranging from 15–20 degrees. There is a 60% chance of rain. SSW winds will be the order of the day peaking at a strong 38 km/hr later. The coast will be blown out, but the Durban beachfront may be useful for surfers. We are expecting an increase in the swell size.
