Schumi in a wheelchair says friend
A close friend of Michael Schumacher has been quoted as saying that the German is paralysed and confined to a wheelchair.
Phillippe Streiff, a former race driver, also said that Schumacher cannot speak and has memory problems.
Streiff believes that the seven-time Formula One world champion is making some form of progress.
Streiff has been in a wheelchair since crashing during pre-season testing back in 1989.
The Telegraph newspaper says Streiff had made his comments in a radio interview.
Schumacher suffered a serious head injury in a skiing accident last December.
Sebastian Vettel, meanwhile, has signed a 3-year contract with the Ferrari Formula One team.
