Sardine action off Transkei
Updated | By Andre Bloem
Sardines have been spotted off the Transkei coast and also near East London.
There has been sardine action this week with reports claiming that common dolphins and gannets were out in force from south of the East London harbour to Kidds Beach.
There is big swell forecast for Thursday and Friday and organisers of the Quiksilver Goodwave will be making a call today on whether or not the event will take place this week. The event has a 6-month window period with SA’s top surfers invited to take part. It will be held along Durban’s Golden Mile. For more info please visit www.goodwave.co.za
It looks like we are in for a beautiful Wednesday on the east coast with clear skies a maximum temperature of 23 degrees Celsius. Light WNW winds are predicted. With the swell picking up and light off-shore winds on the cards, surfers should keep an eye on their local spots today.
