SAFA under review
Updated | By ECR Newswatch
The SA Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (Sascoc) has ordered the SA Football Association (Safa) to submit a report on its finances every six months for the next two years.
Sascoc said on Wednesday it had also decided to appoint a three-member finance team "to meet Safa regarding its current financial position".
A report last year said Safa owed more R100 million despite South Africa hosting the 2010 Fifa World Cup.
Sascoc said it would "intervene to regularise the finances of the organisation" should Safa not comply with the order and not present a progress report twice a year.
