SA one down in 5-match hockey series

Argentina beat the South Africa men's hockey team 4-2 in the first Test after leading 2-0 at half-time at Riverside Sports Club in Durban North yesterday.

Argentina scored through a Pedro Ibarra penalty corner in the fifth minute and field goals by Facundo Callioni (26th), Lucas Vila (36th) and Juan Martin Lopez (67th), while the hosts scored through field goals from Craig Haley (38th) and Taine Paton (40th).

The second Test in the five-Test series will take place on Thursday (today) at Kearsney College just outside Durban.

The match will start at 15h30.
