Rooney arrested for drinking and driving – reports
Various British media outlets are reporting that former England striker and captain Wayne Rooney was arrested for drinking and driving on Thursday night.
The 31-year-old Everton player is believed to have been detained by police while driving home after a night out at a local pub.
Rooney joined his former club Everton ahead of the start of the Premier League – ending his time at Manchester United after 13 years. He’s had a good start to the season – and has scored twice for The Toffees in their opening three fixtures this season.
Rooney also recently announced his retirement from international football, as he winds down a career that has seen him score 53 goals for England, and a total of 200 Premier League
