Richards Bay retain Premiership status

Richards Bay retained their Premiership status after hammering Baroka 4-0 in Durban on Wednesday in the final play-off.

The home side needed one point to top a three-club mini-league including second-tier teams Baroka and Pretoria University, but convincingly collected three.
Baroka, who had to win by at least two goals to rise from last to first in the table, wasted an early scoring chance before conceding twice late in the opening half.
Somila Ntsundwana and Sanele Barns, in his final match before joining fellow Premiership outfit Stellenbosch, were the scorers.
Ntsundwana then claimed the goal of the match on 62 minutes, racing almost half the length of the pitch before firing past goalkeeper Katlego Molefe. Lwandile Mabuya completed the scoring five minutes from time.
Premiership clubs receive a 2.5 million rand ($140,000/€130,000) monthly grant and compete in three knockout competitions while second-division clubs get 500,000 rand and are restricted to one cup.
