Red card for dog abuse

A soccer player in Argentina has been sent off for mistreating a dog.

The animal wandered onto the pitch during a minor league match and was thrown from the field by the player in question.

The referee was unhappy with what he considered the violent conduct of the player and sent him for an early shower.
