Wallabies packed picked by Michael Cheika for Brisbane game:

It’s pretty much what he’s done for the Waratahs. He likes a big pack that’s very physical, that can dominate the advantage line. We were wondering if he would go with two opensiders but he decided against that. So we know it’s going to be very physical and we will have to stop their big carriers on the advantage line. If they get momentum with the backs they’ve picked, they will be very dangerous.

The return of Matt Giteau to the Wallabies team:

It’s difficult to say, I don’t know what the dynamic in their team is but a guy like Giteau is a quality player, we’ve seen what he’s done for Toulon. I was lucky enough to play in a Barbarians game with him and he’s a player that understands the game and how to win – he’ll bring a lot to their team.

Responsibility of the Springbok pack tomorrow:

I think any backline, if they get front-foot ball, it’s so much easier. It’s not just about physicality; work rate is going to be very important as well. I think the way the game is played these days it’s all about speed. With the loose trio we’ve picked, we’ve got a lot of speed there and guys that can work for 80 minutes. They will bring something different to the party. Speaking to some of the guys that play in UK, it sounds like it’s a lot drier in September and October than what we’re used to in November so it will be interesting to find out.

Your role in the Springbok pack:

For me, I’m a five lock. I need to sort out the lineouts and the kick offs – that’s the primary job. That’s still my responsibility. I’m also working closely with a guy like Lood de Jager so that he can understand how we do things if something happens to me or if Heyneke wants to pick him so he can fulfil the role I'm playing at the moment. Hopefully I can make sure our lineouts run smoothly.
