Proteas ready to get T20 World Cup underway

Despite their final warm-up match being
abandoned due to rain on Wednesday, Proteas batsman Rilee Rossouw says the team
are ready to get their campaign underway.
The Proteas were due to play Bangladesh as a final tune up before their competition opener on Monday, however they will have to wait until Friday evening before they know who they are playing.
Despite a tough tour of India recently the South African side adjusted well to the conditions in Australia when they thrashed New Zealand by nine wickets in their first warm-up match.
With a lot of competitive cricket under their belts, Rossouw believes they are ready to get the tournament underway.

“The team is very confident, and we have played a lot of cricket over the last weeks and months even,” Rossouw said.
“With all the franchise cricket that has been on lately there has been a lot of game time for players.
“We can’t control the rain but with that said the guys are ready to go in that first match.”
The Proteas will be in the same group as Bangladesh, India and Pakistan and they could well benefit from the conditions against the teams from the sub-continent.
Rossouw and the team are excited to get their campaign underway and are as prepared as they could be despite the rain on Wednesday.
“The team is in a good place at the moment, we are playing good cricket.
“We are very excited about that first match of the competition and we are sure that it is going to go well for us.”
