The Proteas reached their target of 124 with Dean Elgar not out on 60 and captain Hashim Amla on 38.

South Africa won the three-Test series 2-0 and maintain their position at the top of the Test rankings.

Runs were hard to come by early in the day with the first run coming off the 45th ball of the morning when Elgar pulled a Jerome Taylor delivery through midwicket for four.

Faf du Plessis took 28 balls to get off the mark, with a quick single to mid-on. The Proteas number three made 14 before his dismissal, having faced 69 balls. He was caught by Jermaine Blackwood off the bowling of Sulieman Benn.

Amla promptly marched to the crease and helped improve the scoring rate.

Together with Elgar, the pair (pictured below) shared an unbroken third-wicket partnership of 73 from 91 balls to help South Africa to a comfortable win.
